Collins & May Law
Lloyd Collins Law Office commenced business on the 4th floor of Collins and May Building on Wednesday, 1 April 1992. Both Lloyd Collins and Paul May were partners in the firm Phillips Nicholson (now DLA Piper), which practiced law on the 4th and 5th floors of the building.
Phillips Nicholson changed its name to Phillips Fox as from 1 April 1992 and in conjunction with that decided to close down its Lower Hutt operation. Lloyd Collins then commenced practice on his own account. He started work with one staff member.
Paul May joined the firm on 1 December 1992 and the firm changed its name to Collins and May Law Office. Eugene Collins subsequently joined the partnership.
Lloyd Collins has subsequently retired from the practice and Paul May and Eugene Collins have now moved into consultancy roles.
Amy Haste and Simone Seddon are now directors of the firm and work together with an associate, solicitor, law clerk and two legal executives.
