Henderson Reeves Lawyers Auckland
For over 40 years Henderson Reeves has been at the forefront of providing legal services in Northland, and more recently Auckland, offering a wide range of legal expertise and unsurpassed service.
Although the firm was established in the early 1970s, it was 1981 when Stuart Henderson and Ian Reeves became partners, and Henderson Reeves grew rapidly under their leadership. Building on a strong reputation for excellent service, Henderson Reeves continued to expand. In 2001 the firm was renamed Henderson Reeves Connell Rishworth with the acquisition of Connell Rishworth, together with Lynch and Atkins. two respected and longstanding Whangārei law firms. This expansion saw the firm taking over a further two floors of the now Henderson Reeves building on Bank Street, Whangārei.
In 2008, commercial law specialist Thomas Biss joined Stuart and Ian in partnership, and in 2010 the firm incorporated and became a company. Litigator Jeremy Browne became a Director in 2012, and in 2015, Jamie Bourke became the firm’s first female Director, followed by Amanda Morgan in 2018.
In 2016, Henderson Reeves began offering an innovative mobile legal service using electric vehicles in Auckland, and soon after opened an office in firstly in Avondale to meet growing demand. Founding Auckland lawyers Shelley Funnell and Taina Henderson became Directors in 2022.
Flexible working practices and a commitment to sustainability are a big part of the firm’s ethos. The staff at Henderson Reeves enjoy a great work-life balance, while staying relevant to the ever-changing needs of clients. By 2020, an original staff of six had grown to a team of 70.

Gibbs Mills Livingstone
David Gibbs started the firm in October 1988 after leaving the partnership of another reputable Auckland law firm.
The immediate and general locality of our firm has changed considerably in the years since. Aviemore Drive was originally a cul-de-sac in 1988, but now carries a considerable traffic load and provides a vital link between Botany, Pakuranga, Bucklands and Eastern Beaches and Howick.
Many of David’s original clients still remain clients of Gibbs Mills Livingstone which reflects the nature of the personal practice that David, and subsequently Valerie, Carol and Sam have considered most important.
Coming to the office is not just a means of earning a living. For all of us at Gibbs Mills Livingstone, we feel considerable satisfaction in knowing that we do make a difference to our clients, their families and their businesses.
Please contact one of our directors for more information on the above services.

LegalVision
LegalVision is a commercial law firm that pulls together a team of lawyers, technologists and operations gurus who are drawn together by a shared vision of transforming the delivery of legal services in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
LegalVision was born in 2012 as an online legal documents business. The founding team brought together legal expertise, tech sensibilities and a passion for growth.
Early adopters loved our user-friendly legal documents, but wanted more from their legal services provider. So we started helping clients find legal support through an online marketplace.
Delivering consistently high-quality services for our clients has always been LegalVision’s top priority – so our next pivot was natural. In 2014, LegalVision established an incorporated legal practice, which enabled us to provide legal services directly to clients, rather than through independent suppliers.
Then in 2019, when we transitioned to a membership model. As a result, most of our clients are now members, providing unlimited, on-demand access to our lawyers. We are the first law firm globally to operate on an unlimited legal services membership model.
In 2021, we took the leap in our journey and went international with the expansion of the LegalVision brand into the New Zealand market. Following the success of our first international launch, we soon opened our first office in the United Kingdom in 2022. Our vision is to build an international network of local firms and bring our model of cost-effective, accessible, quality legal services to businesses. In 2025, we formed a strategic partnership with Quadrant Private Equity to accelerate our growth ambitions.
At each stage in our journey, we have grown and evolved by listening – and responding – to the needs of our clients, who range from SMEs to fast-growing startups and large corporates. It’s not in our nature to accept that the existing way of doing things is the best way. We are committed to constantly improving the delivery of legal services, so that we can keep offering our clients legal support that is useful and accessible.
LegalVision is at the forefront of the NewLaw movement and will continue to drive innovation in a rapidly-evolving legal industry.
